GOLDS FOR ARA AT SAN FRAN

Winegrowers of Ara has had a strong showing at the 2009 San Francisco International Wine Competition, the largest and most influential wine competition in America, winning five medals including a Double Gold and a Gold medal.
All of Ara’s three brand tiers won recognition, but the top winners for the company were Ara’s Pathway Sauvignon Blanc 2008, which received a Double Gold medal, and the company’s Composite Sauvignon Blanc 2008, which won a Gold medal.
The awards did not stop there, as other Ara wines were also among the medals at the three day event, which took place between 19-21 June, including silver medals for Resolute Sauvignon Blanc 2007 and Composite Pinot Noir 2008, plus a bronze for Pathway Pinot Noir 2008.
Damian Martin, Ara’s General Manager of Viticulture and Winemaking, said: “These are fantastic results in a major target market for us. This across the board success is a powerful endorsement of Ara’s commitment to quality at every price bracket.”
Double Gold award winners will be invited to participate in a nationwide tour with Patterson’s The Tasting Panel magazine, a nationally respected trade magazine for the wine and spirits industry.
This announcement follows the recent news that Ara wines continue to gain strong on and off-premise listings in New Zealand, including The French Café, where Composite Sauvignon Blanc is the only NZ Sauvignon Blanc by the glass, Huka Lodge, Andiamo, Logan Brown, Ponsonby Rd Bistro, Caros, Ellerslie Wine Cellars, Hemingway Fine Wines, Castle MacAdam Wine and Munslow Wines.
