Christine Pears was appointed Chief Executive in December 2009. Chris has substantial experience both in company leadership and in the wine industry through senior roles in international and New Zealand companies, including seven years at Delegat’s.
A graduate of the University of Auckland and a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants, Chris’ particular strengths include setting strategic direction to develop successful businesses from start up to global recognition and leadership of operational and financial disciplines.
Chris is committed to working with our distribution partners internationally, continuing to build on the market and operational excellence that has been achieved to date, and to establish ARA as a preferred New Zealand partner in the global wine industry.
In her spare time, Chris is a Director of the Auckland branch of the YWCA, a movement of women working for social and economic change around the world, leading and taking part in the many events that the organisation holds.
